EUROCAM Youth Delegate Program Next-Gen Voices Shaping Healthcare's Future
Both the EU and the WHO are make increasing efforts for the engagement of youth (those under 25-year-old) in the process of developing better healthcare. This is a positive development and EUROCAM and tested the waters at the October 2025 WHO Europe Regional Committee meeting.
The meeting is where all the countries from the WHO EURO region meet to discuss and adopt health policies for the region. At the meeting, the first ever youth delegate of EUROCAM, an 11-year-old girl, delivered a speech on the importance of TCIH in child and adolescent health and wellbeing. Her speech was extremely well received by the audience, and WHO EURO director, Dr Hans Kluge, even made a reference to it in his closing speech. In addition, EUROCAM’s chair read a statement on healthy ageing. Both speeches can be watched here:

This positive experience has put in motion a plan EUROCAM has had for a while: to create a group of young people (under 25 years old) who believe that adding TCIH to healthcare can improve outcomes for people and the planet.
Why youth and TCIH?
- Your voice matters. Young people deserve a say in the decisions made at the WHO and EU that will shape the world you’re growing into.
- Your perspective counts. EUROCAM wants youth ideas and experiences to influence how we work and how health policies evolve.
- Your skills can grow here. This program helps you build real advocacy skills.
What You’ll Do
1. Join monthly training sessions designed for young changemakers:
- Role‑play: meeting decision‑makers — 22 April 2026
- Elevator pitch training — 20 or 27 May 2026 (TBC)
- Communications & messaging — June 2026
2. Co‑create a youth statement
In September, you’ll work with EUROCAM Chair, Elisa Baldini to draft the official Youth Statement for the WHO EURO Regional Committee (RC76) in Copenhagen.
3. Represent youth at WHO EURO RC76
Depending on budget, at least one youth delegate will travel to Copenhagen to deliver the Youth Statement on behalf of the group, a real opportunity to speak on an international stage.
