EUROCAM Uniting European organisations in the sector of Traditional, Complementary and Integrative Medicine

EUROCAM is a European foundation uniting umbrella organisations of patients, physicians, practitioners, and veterinarians in the Traditional, Complementary, and Integrative Medicine (TCIM) sector. TCIM focuses on the whole person, is participative, respects individual choices and cultural diversity, and integrates clinical experience and patient values with the best available research information.

EUROCAM aims to promote the contribution of Traditional, Complementary, and Integrative Medicine to better health in Europe.

EUROCAM hosts the secretariat of the MEP Interest Group on Integrative Medicine and Health.

EUROCAM is an independent non-profit and non-governmental European umbrella organisation.

EUROCAM represents acupuncture, Ayurveda, anthroposophic medicine, herbal medicine, homeopathic medicine, naturopathic or traditional European medicine, reiki therapy, and traditional Chinese medicine. The practice of Traditional and Complementary Medicine modalities is based on clinical expertise and the best available clinical evidence from scientific research built over the last few decades.

Objective

The objective of EUROCAM is to promote and facilitate Traditional, Complementary, and Integrative Medicine’s role in enhancing and maintaining citizens' health, highlighting health promotion and TCIM's contribution to preventative healthcare.

  • EUROCAM emphasises the accessibility and affordability of TCIM.

MEP Interest Group event roundtable 'Integrative Oncology | best practices for a patient-centered cancer care'

World Health Assembly decides to develop a new WHO Traditional Medicine Strategy 

30 May 2023, Geneva | The World Health Assembly met for their 76th session in Geneva from May 21 to 30 and adopted a decision for WHO’s current Traditional Medicine Strategy to be extended until 2025 and for WHO to develop a new 2025-2034 global strategy in the meantime. The decision also rules that stakeholders should be included in the drafting process along national governments of WHO member states.

14 June 2022, Brussels | was the website launch of ‘the People’s declaration for Traditional, Complementary and Integrative Healthcare. This declaration calls for the respectful collaboration between traditional, complementary and biomedical practices with the aim of achieving a person-centred and holistic approach to health.
