Guidelines for potential applicants to become an Affiliated Organisation or Associate Partner

EUROCAM is a foundation which unites European organisations representing CAM patients and trained CAM health professionals. Its mission is to promote and facilitate CAM’s role in maintaining citizens health and to promote CAM in EU public health policy.

EUROCAM welcomes application from not for profit organisations of CAM patients and trained CAM health professionals for the status of
– Affiliated Organisation (article 3.1 of the statutes)
– Associate Partner if not eligible for the status of Affiliated Organisation (article 3.2 of the statutes).

The applicant organisation should support one or more CAM therapies which are accepted and practised in a number of countries.

The organisation should have a serious scientific approach and represent health professionals who practise CAM modalities with a research tradition.

EUROCAM will not consider applications from organisations which are principally based on religious approaches.

Any applicant would be expected to participate in, and contribute to, the activities of EUROCAM.

EUROCAM's fee system of affiliate organisations 2021.

An Affiliated Organisation will be admitted as such by the General Board of EUROCAM by a three quarters majority of the votes cast in a meeting where at least two thirds of the Affiliated Organisations are represented.

Affiliated Organisations of EUROCAM are international and/or European umbrella organisations that possess legal personality according to the law applicable to them.
These organisations can consist of:
- Patients with an interest in promoting CAM and or IM.
- Medical doctors with an additional qualification in one or more CAM/IM modalities.
- Practitioners with specific professional accreditation in one or more CAM/IM modalities.
- Veterinarians with an additional qualification in one or more CAM/IM modalities.
- Other authorised healthcare professionals (state registered) with an additional qualification in one or more CAM/IM modalities.

Only legal entities that have most of their activities in Europe and their registered office and administration in any European country acceptable to the Foundation may be admitted as Affiliated Organisation. Affiliated Organisations have the right to vote, in particular on the decision-making process on organisational and legal matters concerning the Foundation.

Associate Partners are CAM/IM organisations that have been admitted by EUROCAM as Associate Partner due to their willingness and ability to participate in the activities of the Foundation. Associate partners have the same rights as Affiliated Organisations, except that they have no right to vote.

An organisation that wishes to be admitted as an Associate Partner must demonstrate to the Foundation that it has a structure or statutes that make it inappropriate for it to be admitted as an Affiliated Organisation and that it:
• Promotes the uptake and use of CAM/IM in national, European, and international health systems,
• Provides a written undertaking to support the aims, activities, and articles of association of the Foundation.

The applicant organisation should support one or more CAM therapies which are accepted and preferable practised in several countries.
