EU4Health demands EC and health ministers do more for health

In 2017 the European Public Health Alliance (EPHA) came together with 14 other European and global health NGOs to demand that the European Commission and health ministers across the EU do more for health. This collaboration was called EU4health Civil Society Associations (CSA).

Their first common statement was “Europe, Let’s Do More for Health” and started as a reaction to the Future of Europe white paper presented in 2017 by European Commission President Jean Claude Juncker, which included, the option to “do less” on some policy areas, This statement called on leaders to promote a healthy Europe, in which everyone, no matter what their age, gender, race or location, has timely and affordable access to the healthcare services and medicines they need to live long and live well.

European and International Organisations with a shared vision for health in Europe are participating in the EU4health initiative.

In the joint statement “Let’s do more for health’ 7 concrete asks on health for the next European Commission and which are within the EU competences, following the EU Treaties are formulated.
